Glossary

Asexual

A person without sexual feelings or desires.

Bisexual

A person romantically and/or sexually attracted to men and women.

Cisgender

Someone who deeply held sense of gender is the same as their biological sex assigned at birth.

Gay

A man romantically and/or sexually attracted to men.

Gender Minorities

A group of whose gender identity, expressions, and/or practices, differ from the majority surrounding society.

Heterosexual

A person romantically and/or emotionally and/or sexually attracted to people of the opposite sex.

Homosexual

A person attracted romantically and/or emotionally and/or sexually attracted to people of the same sex.

Intersex

A condition in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that does not seem to fit the typical definition of female or male, or a person who may be born with genitals that seem to be between male and female.

Lesbian

A woman romantically and/or sexually attracted to women.

Outing

The act of disclosing a lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender and/or intersex person’s true sexual orientation or gender identity without that person’s consent.

Pansexual

A person romantically and/or emotionally and/or sexually attracted towards people regardless of their sex or gender.

Sexual Minorities

A group whose sexual identity, orientation and/or practice differs from the majority of the surrounding society.

Sexual and Gender Minorities

Communities of people who deviate from the majority sexual and gender norms.

Transgender

Someone whose deeply held sense of gender is different from their biological sex assigned at birth.
